Guidance on effective multi-agency working to safeguard children for use across all agencies working with children and young people is Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2015 (PDF 1.6MB) was published on 25th March 2015 and came into force in April 2015. This statutory guidance covers the legislative requirements and expectations on individual services to safeguard and promote the welfare of children; and a framework for Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs) to monitor the effectiveness of local services. The document replaces Working Together to Safeguard Children (2013); The Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families (2000); and Statutory Guidance on making arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of children under section 11 of the Children Act 2004 (2007).
Keeping Children Safe in Education
The Department for Education (DfE) has published revised Statutory Guidance – Keeping Children Safe in EducationKeeping Children Safe in Education – for schools and colleges which came into force on 5 September. The Association of Independent LSCB Chairs (AILCs) has alerted Redbridge LSCB to some useful resources related to the guidance which include a short video presentation, booklet, checklist and training resources for use with staff.
